The Border Crossing Art Project

The Border Crossing Art Project is as an exploration of collaborative art practice, where the artists involved in the project experiment with using multi-layered collaborative processes that traverse geographical and cultural boundaries. The project culminates in a series of exhibitions, workshops and forums in several countries within the Asia Pacific region.

About Us

Curator-artist Wendy Grace Allen
Wendy Grace Allen developed the concept for The Border Crossing Art Project in April 2008 and subsequently invited Dr Apichart Pholprasert and Helen Stacey to collaborate with her on the project. Wendy has recently returned to New Zealand, after living for several years in South East Asia. Her ideas dictate which media she employs in the creation of her artwork that utilises a diverse range of media. Bangkok, Thailand based lecturer-artist, Apichart Pholprasert negotiates rural/urban cultural differences in his art practice. Helen Stacey enjoys life in rural Strathalbyn, South Australia, and successfully juggles many art projects from her Almond Grove Gallery and B&B. We hope you will join us on our journey as we collaborate and experiment with creating art across borders. Learn more about the project from the original post, 21 January 2009.
